Three layers, one mapping.

The Six Capabilities are the public doctrine of the institution: they say what Anabasis believes about human development, and they are meant to be stable across generations. The Seven Schools are how capability is taught. The twelve domains are how CapabilityOS measures development — an internal operating model that maps upward to the capabilities and across to the schools rather than replacing either.

The mapping is held here, in one place, and checked. A domain that resolves to no capability, or a capability no school teaches, is a defect and is named below.

Questions of doctrine

A doctrinal pillar is not changed by implementation convenience. Where the institution has put a question to itself and not yet answered it, the question stands recorded with a review date; the result is written at that date whether or not it flatters the original position.

No question of the mapping stands open.

Settled

An answered question is not deleted. The reasoning is the institution's memory, and a later generation is entitled to read why the question was decided as it was.

Is Technology an enduring human capability, or an enabler through which the other five are developed and applied?
The answer
An enabler. Technology is a means, and means change: the instruments of 1926 are not those of 2026, and a capability meant to endure for centuries cannot be named after the tools of one of them. The sixth capability is Creation — the making of what did not exist, whether enterprise, invention, engineering, design, art, scientific discovery, writing, teaching, or institution. Technology is one of its instruments, and it is a Division (DIV-05), which is where instruments belong.
Consequence
The published Six Capabilities read Health, Character, Knowledge, Leadership, Capital, Creation. Technology holds Layer IV as a division and Layers V–VI as CapabilityOS and its engines. The technical and creative domains now map upward to Creation.
