The Five Pillars

Five domains of practice. Seven schools beneath them.

Human capability cannot be developed through a single discipline. Financial literacy without character creates exploitation. Leadership without wisdom creates tyranny. For this reason the Academy is not a catalogue of subjects but a structure: five pillars, each developing a different dimension of the capable person, and together forming a complete system for lifelong growth.

Capital

Learning to steward and create resources.

Capabilities Developed

Capital · Knowledge

Capital is stored, disciplined effort. A person who cannot steward resources remains dependent on whoever can, however capable they are in every other respect.

Creation

Learning to build.

Capabilities Developed

Creation · Knowledge

Creation is the act of bringing into existence what did not exist before — an instrument, an enterprise, an institution — and of maintaining what one has made.

Human Performance

Learning to sustain yourself.

Capabilities Developed

Health · Character

The body and mind are the substrate on which every other capability runs. Endurance is not a luxury of the ambitious; it is the precondition of contribution.

Leadership

Learning to lead people and institutions.

Leadership · Character

Capability held privately ends with the person who holds it. Leadership is how capability is multiplied through others and preserved beyond a single career.

Civilization

Learning why societies succeed or fail.

Knowledge · Character

Without historical understanding, a generation repeats what it has not studied. Civilization is the long memory against which present judgment is checked.

If the answer is yes, it belongs in Anabasis. If the answer is no, it belongs somewhere else.
