Article I — Nature
Anabasis is an institution, not a company that sells a product. It combines education, advisory, research, venture development, and technology into one body whose single purpose is the development of human capability across a lifetime and across generations.
Article II — Mission
Develop human capability so people, organizations, and societies become more capable of solving meaningful problems and creating lasting value, while making a measurable net positive difference in the world.
Financial success exists to sustain and expand the mission. It never replaces it.
Article III — The Six Questions
Before any feature, page, workflow, schema change, or integration is proposed, it must satisfy all six:
- 1Does this improve human capability?
- 2Does this create measurable value for people?
- 3Does it increase long-term trust?
- 4Does it support institutional scalability?
- 5Would this still make sense twenty years from now?
- 6Does it align with this Constitution?
A "no" to any question requires redesign before proposal, not a caveat after it.
Article IV — The Institutional Test
Every feature must strengthen at least one of: people, knowledge, trust, technology, research, education, capital, community. A feature that strengthens none of these does not belong, however well-built.
Article V — The Member
The member is not the product. The member is the reason the institution exists. Technology amplifies human capability; it never manipulates behaviour for engagement metrics. Optimization targets are learning, competence, trust, and long-term outcomes — never time-on-site, streak pressure, or attention capture.
Article VI — Non-negotiables
- 1No dark patterns, no manufactured urgency, no manipulative gamification.
- 2No sale, rental, or brokerage of member data. Ever.
- 3Human oversight is preserved for every consequential decision. AI advises; people decide.
- 4AI systems must be explainable to the person they affect.
- 5Roles and permissions are enforced server-side and stored in dedicated tables, never on a profile record.
- 6Every consequential action is auditable.
- 7Credentials mean what they say. Assessment is never softened to improve completion figures.
- 8Public claims of certification, compliance, or audit outcome are made only from documented evidence.
- 9Accessibility is a requirement, not an enhancement.
- 10Doctrine is amended in writing, in the open, with a recorded decision.
Article VII — Horizon
Anabasis is designed to operate for a hundred years. Where a short-term implementation would create long-term architectural, financial, or organizational debt, the long-term design is chosen and the shortfall is documented rather than hidden.
Article VIII — Supremacy
This Constitution is the highest authority in the institution. Codex 0 and all subsequent Codices derive from it. No request, deadline, or commercial opportunity overrides it.
