The Brand Doctrine
A brand is a promise repeated until it is a memory.
Identity, symbol, and the architecture of the name.
Identity
Anabasis is the name of an institution, not of a product. Its identity is expressed primarily through consistency of voice, restraint of surface, and the slow accretion of trustworthy work — not through logo variations, campaign lines, or seasonal refreshes.
The identity is what remains when the marketing is subtracted.
The Seal
The Anabasis seal is a single, fixed mark. It exists in one form. It is placed against dark ground, at scale, in silence.
The seal is never re-tinted, re-drawn, animated, distorted, or placed inside a rounded rectangle. It is not a favicon flourish. It is the mark of an institution and is treated as one.
The Wordmark
ANABASIS is set in tracked serif capitals. It is never abbreviated, never rendered lowercase, and never combined with a tagline in the same lockup.
The word is Greek. Its Greek origin is honored by silence about its cleverness.
Naming
Institutions under Anabasis are named plainly, in the register of an academy or a foundation, not a product studio. Names describe what a thing is, not what it aspires to signal.
We avoid coined portmanteaux, deliberate misspellings, and names that require an explanation.
Brand Architecture
Anabasis is the parent institution. Under it sits an ecosystem of institutions, each dedicated to one dimension of human capability, each carrying its own name and its own charter, each governed by the doctrines assembled here.
The relationship is that of an academy to its faculties: distinct, autonomous, coherent. The name Anabasis is not appended to each; it is the ground on which each stands.
Messaging
There is no tagline. The constitutional sentence — civilizations rise when individuals become more capable — serves in its place and is used sparingly.
A single message, said quietly and repeatedly, is worth more than a rotation of clever ones.
