Institution Building

The founder's final craft.

The Course

Institution-building is the founder's final craft: the disciplined design of decision rights, memory, and succession that outlast the founder. This course names what makes an institution durable, and closes with an oral-defense capstone.

Outcomes
  • 01

State what makes an institution durable.

  • 02

Design decision rights that outlast the founder.

  • 03

    Prepare succession without shame.

Pacing

2 weeks · ~6 hours plus the Capstone.

A Note from the Faculty

A firm is a company. An institution is a firm that survives its founder without losing its purpose. Aim higher than the first.
